Capsule wardrobes have a reputation for being boring, but I’ve come to see them as anything but. Over the past year, I’ve realized just how powerful great basics can be. Whether I’m packing for a trip, getting dressed for work, or just navigating everyday life, the pieces I reach for most are the ones I can wear with just about anything.
While we wait for the temperature to drop, I created two capsule collections that prove basics don’t have to be bland. By playing with texture, color, silhouette, and layering, I’ve blended timeless staples with a few fall trends that are currently on my radar. From practical footwear and outerwear to everyday jewelry essentials, these capsules are built to both simplify your wardrobe and elevate it.

A few favorites: by far, these Silver adidas sneakers. I’ve had a pair of silver sneakers in my closet for years and I couldn’t love them more. It’s that subtle metallic detail that elevates any outfit.
A denim shirt is one of those pieces I firmly believe should be in every closet and you can find them in pretty much any shade and price point, but I’m partial to this dark denim option. If you’re a fan of Kathleen Post, this is her signature shirt.
There is a shade of green I’m seeing in a lot of fall trend predictions and I’m here for it! I found this quarter zip sweater in such a gorgeous shade and I love how it looks with chocolate brown and denim. One of your favorites this month? This henley in the same shade.
One of the first pieces I added to my cart was this semi sheer blouse from Aritzia. I love how they styled the look with a very on trend pair of trouser shorts, but I took styling one step further by showing how you can take the top from…
> casual everyday
> dinner date
> into the office
> networking event
Next piece on my wish list and a trend I’m loving: this lace trim skirt. The obvious styling is with a simple cardigan (size up) or blazer, but I’d take it casual with a simple white tee and a sneaker. Throw on a pair of heels and this is also a fantastic option for date night. The midi length is very much my style, but I also find this knee length version on sale.

A few favorites: A pair of wide leg trousers is the hero in my wardrobe. I travel with them, I wear them to the office, and a wide leg style is so easy to dress up or down. The Effortless pant from Aritzia comes in a few colorways and I’ve heard they’re the best of the best.
Another trend you’ll see a lot of this fall? STRIPES! And from an inexpensive long sleeved tee to an oversized button up, there are so many ways to incorporate this into your style.
Last year I discovered the Cash Soft line from the Gap and have since added several pieces to my closet. It’s the softness of cashmere, but a blend that comes at a much lower price point. I grabbed this navy cardigan as soon as it went on sale and I’ve already found a multitude of ways to style it for everyday.

📍 THE ACCESSORIES: Simple gold + silver pieces that make a statement
If you’ve been around awhile it’s no secret that Jenny Bird has been one of my go-tos for everyday jewelry. The quality of her pieces is unmatched and while they’re not Amazon prices, they’re not fine jewelry prices either. Sharing the pieces I’ve been reaching for on repeat that offer a little more character than your typical everyday basics.
Silver orb earrings from Anthropologie ($35)
Jenny Bird Florence earrings in silver ($158) - also a July favorite of mine
Gold geometric studs ($58)
Sculptural gold earrings ($150)
Silver chain necklace ($48) - also a designer look for less
Two toned chain necklace ($298) - a bit of a splurge, but the two-toned gives you the opportunity to wear it with everything
