My Anniversary Sale Edit
Is the Nordstrom Sale really as big of a deal as every influencer makes it out to be?
Short answer: No.
If you’ve been here a while, you know I’m going to give it to you straight.
The truth? Retailers tend to offer their steepest discounts around the holidays. That’s when I stock up on home staples, snag luxury finds like cashmere at a serious steal, and knock out most of my gifting list—all at a discount.
That said, are there any deals in this Nordstrom Sale that do stack up?
Yes—and I’ve rounded up the ones actually worth shopping.
The sale opens to the public Friday, July 12 and while “must have” inventory is notorious for selling out, don’t be discouraged. As returns start making their way back to stores, it is highly likely you’ll see restocks within the next week.
MY ANNUAL SPLURGE: A WINTER COAT
Big ticket items are, in my opinion, where you get the biggest savings. Last Nordstrom sale I tried on a Max Mara jacket and my girlfriends watched my face light up as it’s cozy cocoon wrapped me in it’s goodness. This year my choice was a toss up between this timeless neutral plaid ($225 savings) and it’s bold blue counterpart. ($195 savings) Both run large, wearing a size 12 in both.
And for a more practical everyday jacket, this neon number from Zella ($43 savings) check the boxes for casual, comfortable, lightweight, and packable.
This cow print jacket wasn’t the right fit for me, but it immediately had me wanting to plan a trip to Jackson Hole. Such a great quality jacket, just a not the right shape for my body type. Hoping one of you snags it so I can live vicariously through you.
Another big ticket item on my radar- Barbour jackets are as timeless as they come and I’ve been searching for the perfect style second hand for years to no avail. This hooded waterproof trench is one of those closet staples you’ll have in your closet for years to come. ( $175 savings)
Another timeless closet addition on my radar? These Ray Ban sunglasses are on sale for under $100. The smaller shape frame + the lighter lense are more fresh + modern, style to update your current look. These would also make a great gift!
ON MY TRAVEL WISHLIST: THIS SUITCASE
A new carry-on is on my 2025 bingo card, but having been through countless flights with broken handles and warranty claims rejected, I’ve done more consumer research than Travel & Leisure. With additional input from my pilot brother-in-law, the top contenders are Away, Monos, and Rimowa (but $$ ). The sales price on this extendable carry-on might just be what tips the scale.

AN UNEXPECTED FAVORITE: These kitten heels.
These kitten heels online were cute, but in person they were an immediate grab. The burgundy patent leather was my pick, but the brown and navy suede were a close 2nd. The heel height is practical, the toe detail adds character, and the $50 savings = a great closet addition.

A few of my favorite things have made the sale year after year:
L’Occitane shower oil was a 2024 favorite - it’s my #1 for hydrated skin, especially in the winter!
The Charlotte Tilbury setting spray has been a beauty staple for years. It’s earned the name ‘airbrush + flawless’
Bombas socks - the ONLY socks I’ve worn for years. I commonly see these referred to as “hugs for your feet” and truer words have never been spoken. * this sales price is the same as holiday pricing so if you don’t need these now, you’ll be able to score another sale then.

John inevitably walks away from the Nordstrom sale with his once a year restock on his tried and true favorites. You’ve seen Kiehl’s products in just about every stocking stuffer guide and this facial fuel ($24 savings) still ranks as one of John’s favorite products. And getting men into a skincare regimen? 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
If I was only going to buy one item from the men’s sale, it would be these OnCloud sneakers ($70 savings). He has these, loves these, and wears these daily.
The Ugg slippers are a frequent sale item so if you wait until holiday (or even a random Nordstrom Rack restock) you’re likely to find a similar price.
A new purchase this year? With one of our biggest trips ahead of us, John was definitely in need of an upgrade to his personal item situation. Tumi’s reputation speaks for itself, but it was the sales price on this backpack ($125 savings) that made it a more attainable investment.
